Gene P. King, 59, of Mason City and formerly of Charles City, died September 5, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City following a lengthly illness. Gene Paul King was born February 14, 1941, in Charles City, the son of Lester W. Sr., and June I. (McDougle) King. On July 18, 1963, he married Kathleen M. Onak. Gene was a former manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken of Charles City and also a truck driver for the Charles City Dairy.
Living family members include his wife, Kathleen; one son, John; one daughter, Debbie; one brother, Lester W. King, Jr.; and one granddaughter, all of Charles City. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carol Dean; and one grandchild.
